Stoughton- Eleanor L. Skaife, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Skaalen Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was born in Norton, KS on August 13, 1924, the daughter of Ralph and Elsie Cope. Eleanor attended art school and loved to draw. On December 8, 1941, she married Lawrence Skaife. Together they lived in California and Wisconsin. Eleanor was a quiet and strong woman who enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, sewing and embroidery, flowers, and gardening. She was an avid Brewer fan who enjoyed watching every game and attended when she was able. She is survived by her four children, Larry Skaife Jr., Jim Skaife, John (Carol) Skaife, and Cheryl (Bob) Thompson; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Adam) Lawrence, Jackie (John) Skaife, Wesley Skaife, Barb Winkler, Laura (Steve) Fritz, Brooke (fiancé, Shane) Skaife, and Jeff (Fredith) Skaife; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Dale Cope; sister, Lois Huckaby; extended relatives and friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; daughters-in-law, Donna Skaife and Diane Skaife; granddaughter, Bobbi Skaife; brother, Richard; and sisters, Isabelle Rollins and Maxine Lamkin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following, at the Stoughton VFW. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
