Eldean Milward

July 20, 1924 — December 18, 2012

Middleton - Eldean M. Milward, age 88, of Middleton died on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, under the kind and compassionate care of Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. The second of five children born to Leonard and Martha (Hoffman) Zuehlke, Eldean was born on July 20, 1924 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

Eldean graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1942. After graduation Eldean attended Madison Business College. She then began her career with the Wisconsin Auto and Truck Dealers Association; retiring in 1996 after more than 40 years of service.

After retirement from her full-time job, Eldean continued to work part-time with her son, Gary, at Gary's Art and Frame Shop in Middleton, Wis., until shortly before her death.

Eldean resided at Attic Angel Place for the past two years where she was able to live the final years of her life with style and grace, make many new friends and pursue the things that nourished her soul; in particular painting and beading.

A special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Attic Angels who made these last years a treasured experience. In particular the family thanks Janine Field, RN., who provided exceptional care to Mom while a resident at Attic Angels and in doing so, allowed her to live with the independence she cherished. Also, to Jodi Connelly, whose genuine exuberance and joy for her job always brightened Mom's day.

Eldean is survived by her son Gary and his partner, Brian Farrell and her son Greg and his partner, Bruce Pitz.

She is also survived by her youngest brother, Leo, of Beaver Dam; as well as very special friends Bridget Malesytcki, Beth Jesion, Vicki Tomaszewski and Karen Meyer. Bridget, Beth and Vicki spent many fun-filled hours with Eldean during the past two years going to lunch and working with her on her latest projects in the Attic Angel Art Studio and Karen made every Wednesday afternoon in the Hair Salon at Attic Angels the most special day of Eldean's week.

Eldean was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Emroy and Delmar; and sister, Anola.
