Elaine Wiersema

Elaine G. Wiersema, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in Sun Prairie. The daughter of Lester and Viola Essenburg, she was born and raised in Holland, Michigan, where she also met and married her first husband Judson Henry Wiersema.
Elaine had a successful real estate career for over 35 years. She inspired all of us with her quick wit and sense of humor, always seeing the fun side of life. She loved reading books, meeting new people, and fried chicken and mashed potatoes.
She is survived by three sons: Mike (Cheri), Greg (Claudia), and Mitch (Diane) Wiersema. Elaine is further survived by seven grandchildren: Tara Marsden, Brooke (Iain) Sharpe, Dan (Anah), Kate, Bridget (Mike) Pionke, Luke, and Emily; three great-grandchildren: Eva Marsden, and Liam and Gavin Sharpe; a brother, Jack (Joyce) Essenburg; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kathleen, and her first husband, Jud.
A memorial service will be held on December 11, 2014 at United Methodist church in Sun Prairie. Visitation is from 4 - 5 pm, with the service at 5 pm. She will be laid to rest at the Pilgrim Home Cemetery in Holland, Michigan.
