Elaine Warskow

Madison - Elaine H. Warskow, 88, passed away December 2, 2015 at Oakwood West University Woods. Elaine was born October 22, 1927 in Green Bay, the only child of Harry and Mathilda (Kuehl) Krug. After graduating from Green Bay East High School, she attained a Bachelor of Science degree from Lawrence University in 1949. She was employed at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee. She met the love of her life, Arnold "Arnie" Warskow, in a church choir. They were married on November 1, 1958, and he passed away on February 27, 1992 at Oakwood.

Elaine and Arnie moved to Madison in October, 1963, and she moved into Oakwood in November, 2009. She was very active in her Luther Memorial Church where she was a choir member and choir secretary and treasurer for many years and also served on the music and worship committees.

She was a dedicated volunteer of the Oakwood Service League and many other activities. Elaine was honored to receive the 2006 Volunteer Service Award. For many years Elaine enjoyed her cottage on Shawano Lake, attending concerts and plays, and traveling throughout our country and numerous foreign countries.

She is survived by her "adoptive" family of Carol and Tom Rivers, their daughters, Patricia (Conrad, deceased) Polensky and Janet (Reed) Bollig, and granddaughter, Megan Bollig. Also surviving are niece Martha (Charlie) Michael, nephew Richard (Donna) Retberg and other nieces and nephews.

Elaine will be laid to rest next to Arnie at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee at 11:00 a.m. on December 7, 2015. A memorial service will be at Oakwood Village University Woods in the Resurrection Chapel, 6205 Mineral Point Road, Madison at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 with Luther Memorial Pastor Brad Pohlman and Oakwood Chaplain Martha Nack officiating. A lunch will follow the service.

At Elaine's request, memorials may be given to Luther Memorial Church or the Oakwood Foundation.
