Elaine Reppen

April 27, 1923 — February 4, 2014

Elaine K. Reppen, age 90, passed away on Feb. 4, 2014 at Skaalen Home. She was born on April 27, 1923, the daughter of Harold and Tilla (Staff) Nottestad. On November 21, 1945 she married the love of her life Norman Jacob Reppen.
Prior to marriage Elaine graduated from UW-Whitewater and taught in a one room school for several years. Elaine was an active member and volunteer for Skaalen Home, The Sons of Norway, Mandt Lodge, and a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Cottage Grove. Both Elaine and Norman loved to dance, especially the polka, waltz, and square dancing. She was the secretary of Cottage Grove School for 31 years and was affectionately known as Mom to all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. Reppen; parents, Harold and Tilla Nottestad; brother, Howard Nottestad and sister, Doris (Nottestad) Salvisberg.
Elaine is survived by her son and his family David (Sharon) Reppen, two grandchildren Michael (Erin) Laemmrich, Patrick (Trisha) Laemmrich, and four great-grandchildren Hanna, Malec, Dane, and Avery. She is also survived by her daughter and her family Susan (David) Stumpf, five grandchildren Naomi Olson, Anna (Paul) Nugent, Matthias (Alexandria) Olson, Andrea (Stumpf) Tshudy, Jenelle Stumpf and six great-grandchildren Micaiah, Mary, Jack, Will, Luke, and Leah. Elaine is survived by her brother-in-law Robert Salvisberg, sister-in-law Lucille Nottestad, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 15, 2014 at Skaalen Home Chapel 400 N. Morris St, Stoughton, Wisc. with Rev. James Koza presiding. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following the service at the Skaalen Home Friendship Room. A private burial will take place at Hope Cemetery in Cottage Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out to Skaalen Home and Chapel or the Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin 517 North Segoe Rd., Suite 301 Madison, WI 53705.
The family would like to thank Rev. James Koza and the staff at Skaalen Home Garden Glen for all the love and care they have provided Elaine and her family over the years.
