Eileen M. Kuehn, age 76, of Waunakee, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, July 26th, 2025 at her home in Waunakee. She was born on December 31st, 1948 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Leonard and Herlindis (Ballweg) Kuehn.
Eileen attended St. Martin of Tours Parochial School, Waunakee High School and the Madison Academy of Beauty Culture, which began her hair styling career of over 55 years at several salons in Madison. Her creativity was also showcased in her yard with many beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Her family was treated to her talents in the kitchen, especially continuing the tradition of lovingly baking cookies passed down from family recipes. During the holidays, her Arizona nieces and nephew checked their mailboxes awaiting her beautifully packaged Christmas treats. She so looked forward to her yearly vacations to Mexico, relaxing on the beach with her long-time friend Bill. Bill’s family was like a second family to Eileen. It was important for Eileen to keep in touch through emails and social media, and she spent many happy hours playing internet games and watching her favorite game shows on TV. Her other favorite things included fishing, lakes, rock collecting, traveling, jigsaw puzzles, teddy bears and of course, her beautiful pets that she had over the years.
Eileen was a loving Auntie to her nieces Lisa Kuehn, Ronda (Jim) Guidry, Jodi (Terry Kalscheur) Kuehn, Vicki (Tanveer) Razzaq, Kristin Kuehn; nephews John (Elaine Crowley) Kuehn, Gary (Linda) Kuehn, and Eric (Karla) Kuehn. Her great-nieces and great-nephews include Tia (Drew) Genco, Courtney (Derick Velada) Razzaq, and Alexis Razzaq; Zach (Amber) Wester, Zoe (Adam) Derkaoui, Noah (Michaela) Guidry; Spencer and Riley Kuehn; Sam, Mia and Ava Kalscheur. Eileen was so happy to have three great-great-nephews, Luca and Gio Genco; and Yamin Derkaoui. She will be dearly missed by many cousins, friends and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sister, Stan, Ken, and Diane Jalili; her sisters-in-law Marlene (Myhre) Kuehn, Mary Lou (Adler) Kuehn, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 7th, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South Street, Waunakee. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. The burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family would like to invite Eileen’s loved ones to share in a catered luncheon at the Waunakee Village Park Shelter at 500 E. Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the family to help defray funeral and burial expenses.
We wish to acknowledge everyone in the family who played such a big role in Eileen’s day-to-day life throughout the years, especially these last several months: John and Elaine, Gary and Linda, Ronda and Jim, Jodi and Terry, and Mary Jane. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Eileen’s good friend Lisa, and the Agrace Hospice staff.
We love you and will miss you, Auntie. You will remain in our hearts forever.
