Madison- Edwin "Ed" Tallard, 85, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Friday, December 5, 2014. Ed was born on June 18, 1929, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Sidney and Jeanette Tallard. He graduated from Wisconsin High School, that is where he met the love of his life, Vivian Wilkie. They married on September 21, 1946 and celebrated 67 years together. Ed's passions included golfing, playing Santa for his children and grandchildren, gardening, fishing and hunting. Ed was the Town of Middleton Chairman for thirty years. He has a park named after him to continue his legacy. He loaded his hook with love from his heart and had us hook, line and sinker right from the start.
He is survived by his loving children; Kathy Howard (Dennis), Patti Biller (Ken), Sid Tallard, Vivian Steinhauer (Gary), Robin Polley (Steve), Laurie Lawrence (Ed); 15 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren; one brother, Robert and one sister, Barbara Johnson.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife Vivian, one grandson, his parents, and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Smith officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
