Edwin Rabuck

Madison: Edwin A "Butch" Rabuck, age 62, passed away in the arms of his loving wife Gisela Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born July 10, 1951 the son of Jack and Edna Rabuck in Reedsburg. Eddie served his country loyally in both the US Army and the Marines and was a Vietnam Veteran. On March 22, 1975 he was united in marriage to Gisela Ploessl in Madison. Eddie was a salt of the earth man that focused his life around his family and his home. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cards and checkers with the grandchildren and listening to the Brewers, Packers and Badgers on the radio. His true calling was woodworking and he spent hours in his shop making presents for family and friends, which will be forever treasured. He was quick to put your favorite album on the record player when you visited and loved watching John Wayne movies. One of his greatest joys was his life he shared with Gisela and he always looked forward to their coffee breaks on the patio and whatever she had cooking in the kitchen. Nothing brought him greater joy than a home cooked meal with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Gisela; children, Sandy (Duane), Nancy (Craig), Ed Jr. (Susan), grandchildren; Ian, Landon, Trent, Joycelyn, Deja, and Alexander, brothers Joe and Mike and sisters Linda and Janice. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Bill. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison WI 53705, with a Celebration of Eddies Life at 1:00 pm. Following Eddies' wishes, please wear blue for the services, his favorite color, as this is a Celebration of his life and that we were all blessed to be part of his journey. The family would like to thank the countless friends, family and neighbors that have supported them through this time and helped in so many ways with meals, help at the house and their visits to the home and hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Ryan DeLee, Dr. Dusty Deming and the staff at Agrace. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens.
