Edwin Hellenbrand

Ashton - Edwin "Eddie" Hellenbrand, age 86, died on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his family, following a brief illness. He was born Sept 8, 1927 to Clemens and Laura (Wipperfurth) Hellenbrand. He married Rosalie "Rosie" Sauk on May 10, 1955.
Eddie served in the Army and was employed at Madison Kipp Corporation. He always put his family first and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a number of hobbies including; bowling, woodworking, playing cards, watching Ashton Home Talent games and his trips to the casinos. He was a lifelong member of St Peter's Catholic Church in Ashton.
Survivors include his beloved wife Rosie; three children Edward (Donna), Charlene (Ron) Volp, Steven (Tammy); five grandchildren, Jason (Rita) Hellenbrand, Luke (Nicole) Volp, Joseph Hellenbrand, Emily Volp and Megan Volp; one great-grandchild Hunter Hellenbrand. He is further survived by his siblings Marcie Marks, Rita Heimbecker, Sally (Charlie) Ruhland, Vince (Betty), and Mary (Eddie) Seiler; Brother-in-laws Leo Sauk Jr., Jim Sauk and Pat Wagner; along with many nephew and nieces. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary in 1958 and siblings Bernie (Albert) Endres, Sylvester (Violet), Albert, Frances Wagner and Rosetta; In-laws Leo and Sophie Sauk, Dorothy (Dick) Becker, Harley Marks, Bill Heimbecker and Charles Sauk.
Funeral services will be held on Friday Jan. 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St Peter's Catholic Church, 7121 County Trunk K in Ashton. Rev. Brian Dulli will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
