Edward Lamont Vervoort age 65 of Waunakee died on Tues. Jan. 21, 2014 at his home following a brief illness. He was born on Feb 28, 1948 in Berkley, California to Lamont and Eleanor (Ceshker) Vervoort. In his youth his family moved to Wisconsin, living for a short time in Waukesha, Sun Prairie and Madison, where Ed graduated from Madison West High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971. Upon his return to Madison he attended Madison School of Electronics, worked at Nicolet/ThermoFisher for many years, and most recently at Kraft Foods in Madison. He married Darlene Adler on May 4, 1974 at St Johns in Waunakee. Ed enjoyed following sports teams, gardening, working on cars, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Ed and Dar have been long-time Badger football season ticket holders following the team to numerous Bowl Games.
Survivors include his wife Darlene, two daughters, Missy (Chris) Landsness, Heidi (David) Robbins, a son Erik; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Molly, Morgan, Lacey, Brookelyn, Brody and Lata; one sister Ellen Vervoort (Harlan Widmann); a brother Charles (Valerie) Vervoort; two brothers-in-law Leroy (Virginia) Adler; Larry (Elaine) Adler; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Lamont and Eleanor and his in-laws Edward and Florentine Adler.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. Jan. 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St John's Catholic Church, 209 South St Waunakee. Friends may call at the church on Sat from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
