Edna June McNurlen age 91; passed away peacefully at home with family Sunday July 27, 2025. She was born June 10, 1934 in Richland Center to the late Clarence and Sadie Wheeler.
She lived in Richland Center until she was 20 years old, then moved to Madison where she met and married her late husband William " Bill " McNurlen as he commuted to Madison for work. She worked for a local candy company until her retirement.
Edna is a member of Crosspoint Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed her days filled with Sudoku, word finds, and reading. She also enjoyed day trips with her daughter and granddaughter. She also loved spending time with the two family dogs, Boomer and Dottie. She enjoyed joking and poking fun at Josh " the maintenance man " making him blush. She especially loved spending time with her little helper and special friend Avyonna age 5 (Tonya and Josh's granddaughter).
Edna is survived by her daughter Gladys Smith; granddaughter Tonya Winkler (Josh Lancaster); Matt O'Donahue, great grandson's Nathaniel and Jonathan, brother Allen " Butch " (Sharon) Wheeler; and is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Edna is preceded in death by her husband, parents, granddaughter Shawn Winkler, son-in-law Ken Smith, 3 brothers Don, Lavere, and Alvin, 3 sisters Geraldine, Josephine, and Isolene.
A celebration of Life visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Tuesday August 5, 2025 at Cress Funeral Home 3325 East Washington Ave, Madison. Edna will be laid to rest for eternity next to her loving husband on their 64th wedding anniversary at Highland Memory Gardens.
