Edith Gallagher

Madison-Edith McChesney Gallagher, Born April 16, 1925 to Clara and Harvey McChesney of Deforest, passed away June 28, 2012 in Middleton Wisconsin.

Edith attended Deforest High School, and worked for First National Bank in Madison until she married James Joseph Gallagher in August of 1946. She joins James, who died in May of 2000, in eternal rest.

Edith found great joy in her children and grandchildren, and her many dear friends. After James retired from Gallagher Tent and Awning, the couple travelled to Phoenix Arizona each winter for many years, until the time of James' death. They belonged to the Madison Elks Lodge, and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Parish.

Edith is survived by daughter Jane (Randall) Grace of Phoenix, and son John (Barbara) of Madison. She is also survived by grandchildren Ryan Gallagher of Wausau, Nicolas, Melissa, Jaclyn, and Matthew Gallagher of Madison, and Alessandra Grace of Washington DC.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 am at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE, 401 S. Owen Dr., with a visitation an hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Edith's honor to Attic Angel Employee Appreciation Fund c/o Attic Angel Place, 8301 Old Sauk Road, Middleton WI 53562.
