Waunakee -- Earl G. Miller, age 64, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 8, 19 46 , in Madison, the son of James ""Jack"" and Lorna (Krueger) Miller. Earl proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a very active member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Knights of Columbus. Earl was united in marriage to Jean Ellen Brunner on July 26, 19 69 .  He worked as a boiler operator for the State of Wisconsin at Mendota Mental Health Institute for 25 years until his retirement. Earl was always up for a good game of cribbage, playing chess (local and long distance) and an occasional game of euchre. He had a good sense of humor and was always quick with a joke.  Earl is survived by his loving wife of 40 years; Jeannie Miller, four children:  Jill Ann- Miller (Barry) Salem , Andrew (Lisa) Miller, Amy Miller and Kim (fiance Brian Bernards) Miller.  He adored his 3 grandchildren:  Kelsey, Hallie, Grant and was awaiting grandchild #4 in July.  He is also survived by two brothers; Harold Miller (special friend Mary Nelson) and Harvey ( Alice ) Miller, along with numerous brothers-and- sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; 3 half -brothers; mother- and -father- in-law, Carl and Magdalen Brunner; brothers -and- sister-in-law, Barbara and Ervin Zander, Richard McNulty, and Mark Brunner.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CATHOLIC CHURCH (in the new building), 209 South Street , Waunakee ,on Saturday, February 6, 2010 , with Monsignor James Gunn officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday, February 5, 2010 , from 4 to 7 p.m. , and again on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.  Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery .
