Duane R. Cline age 83 of Madison, WI passed away on Sunday February 1, 2026. 

Duane was born June 20, 1942 in Lodi, WI, the son of Henry and Edna(Asher)Cline. He worked for Schappe Don Miller Pontiac as an auto upholsterer for over 21 years. In 1867, Duane married Shirley (Herlitz)Cline and were married for 58 years. Duane served in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. Duane enjoyed camping, steam engine and car shows. He loved to play guitar and singing around the campfire with family and friends. 

Duane is survived by his wife Shirley, their three children, Richard (Sandra Pokorney),Vicky(Paul)Esser and Dawn(fiancé Chris Ellis). Three grand daughters, Marissa and Keira Esser and Leeah Ellis. 

Duane is processed in death by his parents and brother William Cline and many relatives and close friends. 

The family would like to thank the team at the VA hospital, Oak Park place and Agrace hospice for his care.

A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Cress Funeral Service, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53704. An inurnment will take place at Town of Blooming Grove Cemetery following the visitation.

Duane's family asks that you dress casually and feel free to wear plaid or flannel in honor of Duane's memory.
