Dorthea Kreger, age 78, entered eternal life on Sunday July 14, 2013 at AgraceHospice Care in Fitchburg after a long illness. She was born on October 5, 1934 in Medford, WI , the daughter of Edward and Lillian (Redwine) Graves. She married Ernest "Junior" Kreger on October 10, 1953 in Sun Prairie.
Dorthea worked at Wisconsin Porcelain Company for many years. She then went on to receive a Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate from MATC. Her passion was working with "her people". She loved gardening, NASCAR, the Packers and her best friend Shyloe, her yellow lab.
Dorthea is survived by her daughters Sharon (Steven) Kalscheuer of DeForest and Cindy Kreger of DeForest, son Steven (Sandy) Kreger of Waunakee, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother Arthur (Arvelda) Graves of Westfield, WI, sister Stella (Larry) Stuart of Norman OK, many nieces and nephews and special friends Lois and Noreen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest, daughter Kathy, sister Betty Ann and son-in-law John Orvis.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, July 19, 2013 at 6:00 pm at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie with a visitation starting at 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison or Agrace HospiceCare Inc., Fitchburg.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Agrace HospiceCare Inc. and in-home care North Team for their caring support they gave to Dorthea.
