STOUGHTON-Dorothy E. Thompson (Chickering) passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at her home. She was born on July 27, 1930 in Waukon, Iowa to Sidney and Ila (Shift) Chickering.

Dorothy is survived by her children Jim Dawson, Jene (Patty) Dawson, Joyce DeRosia, Robert (Jane) DeRosia, John DeRosia, Jerry DeRosia, Wanda (Kim) Wilson, and Virgil (Cheryl) Thompson; son in law Gary Michalsk; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by her siblings Jene (Judy) Chickering and sister Joyce (Frank) Lyons; and many friends, and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil K. Thompson, Sr.; children: Janet Michalski, Jay Dawson, Judy DeRosia; and daughter-in-law Mary Dawson.

Friends and family will gather at 1:00 PM on Tuesday May 19, 2026 at Lutheran South Cemetery in Stoughton to bring Dorothy to her final place of rest.
