Dorothy Ann Ritter, MD, PhD, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Madison, WI. She dedicated 25 years of service as a neonatologist at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, where she cared for countless infants and families with expertise and compassion.

Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Barbara McHugh (Richard) of GA, Rita Bonde (Alphonse) of IL, and Therese Weiser (William) of ID; her brother, Lawrence Ritter (Lisa Evans) of AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend, Jack Kenny, MD (Andrea) of Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorraine and George Ritter, and her sisters, Mary and Margaret Mary,

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave., Joliet, IL. Family will greet visitors beginning at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy's name may be made to St. Mary's Hospital, or to the University of St. Francis.
