Dorothy E. Powers

Dorothy Elaine Powers, age 94, of Waunakee died on October 10, 2024, after a long illness. She was born June 29, 1930 to Harry and Rose (Heller) Wellner on their farm in Marion Township, Grant, Co. WI, (between Boscobel and Fennimore). She married Keith C. Powers on October 1, 1948. 

A 1948 graduate of Boscobel High School, Dorothy earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1979. After retiring from the Wisconsin Public Service Commission in 1996, she was employed by H&R Block in Prescott Valley AZ. 

She is survived by two sons, Dale (Julie) of Tacoma, Washington, and Darren (Therese) of Waunakee, Wisconsin, and a granddaughter, Megan of Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Carl and Herman; a sister, Ruth Scott and an infant daughter. 

Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 6815 Schneider Rd., Middleton, WI, on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
