Dorothy O'Connell

Madison--Dorothy (Dot) Marian Frye O'Connell, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 1st. She was born in North Zulch, Texas, February 11th 1929, the daughter of John Marion Frye and Mary Elizabeth McBride Frye. She was preceded in death by her siblings James Truman (Marie), Ruby Mae (Jim), Herman Elton (Maudine), Evelyn Pearl (Elvin), and Mildred Elizabeth (Jack). Dot is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Gemma Gliori) O'Connell; son, Timothy (Julie) O'Connell; two grandchildren, Hannah O'Connell and Ben O'Connell; and many nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews.

Dot graduated from San Jacinto High School (Houston, TX) and attended the University of Houston (Secretarial Science). She worked for Exxon Mobile for many years, as well as the Sakowitz Brothers' Department Stores. She moved to Janesville, WI in 1967, where she worked as an administrative assistant for a variety of organizations, including the Janesville Health Care Center. Dot loved gardening, antiques, interior decorating, genealogy, and was a voracious reader.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Capitol Lakes Skilled Nursing Facility and Agrace Hospice for their exceptional care and support.

There will be a small, private family memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Sun Prairie Public Library (1350 Linnerud Drive, Sun Prairie, WI 53590).
