Dorothy Kolb

MADISON- Dorothy H. Kolb, age 93, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Agrace HospiceCare surrounded by her family. She was born on November 13, 1922 in Madison to George and Nancy (Wills) Knoche.

Dorothy married Quintin "Jake" Kolb on June 3, 1944. Dorothy and Jake briefly lived in Horicon, WI in the 50's and later moved back to Madison. Together, they created Arrow Electric, Inc.

Dorothy was always a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and became a Milwaukee Brewers fan later in life. She also looked forward to her daily "Wonderword" each morning in the Wisconsin State Journal. As a woman of faith, Dorothy was also a longtime member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Middleton. She was a loving mother, grandma, and great-grandma, and she will be remembered for her warm smile, passion for life, and fantastic chocolate chip cookies.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Judy (Bob) Faren, James, Linda (Tim) Hook, Jane (Paul) Anderson, and Tim (Julie); son-in-law Fred Behrend; and daughter-in-law Cindy Kolb. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents George and Nancy Knoche, husband Quintin "Jake", daughter Mary Behrend, son Robert Kolb, one grandson, one granddaughter, 3 brothers, and one sister.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705. Additional visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 AM on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2015 Parmenter St., Middleton, WI 53562 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 AM. Dorothy will be brought to her final place of rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Madison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy's honor are encouraged to the American Heart Association or Agrace HospiceCare.
