Dorothy Kaether

Madison - Dorothy M. (Dee) Kaether died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Wynwood of Madison - West. She was born April 13, 1925, in Madison to Gerhardt W. (Gary) and Velma R. (Keepers) Farber. She graduated from Madison East High School in 1943 and was awarded her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1947. In 1948 she was joined in marriage to her great love, William O. Kaether, a remarkable and gentle man. For many years she was the Fashion and Special Events Coordinator for Gimbels Hilldale and later was employed at Woldenbergs. She was preceeded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Carol Farber; Godmother, Elizabeth Farber; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert V. and Ruth Kaether. She is survived by her son, William O. Kaether Jr. (Cynthia ), grandsons, Jeffery and Brett Kaether, McFarland; daughter, Jeanne Kaether, Minneapolis, grandsons, Christopher and John Hines, Lawrence, Kansas; sisters, Donna (David) Van Egeren, Janesville, Marcia (Andrew) Murillo, Stoughton; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. She was grateful everyday of her life for the blessings of a devoted husband, beautiful family and an abundance of loving, loyal and supportive friends. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E.
