Madison - Dorothy L. (Pine) Egener age 81 died peacefully on December 16, 2014 at Agrace Hospice surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born on November 19, 1933 to Maurice and Loretta Pine. She lived in Madison all of her life and attended Madison East High School and graduated in 1951. On November 24th 1951 she married Bob Egener, the love of her life.
Dorothy was a full-time mom and eventually part-time Administrative Secretary for the UW Madison Math/Science Research Development Center. She loved her job and the friends she met there.
She and Bob retired in 1987 and traveled to many interesting and exotic places. She often said how the African Safari trip was her favorite.
After Bob died in 2003, Dorothy still managed to take road trips with her friends and truly found peace and comfort in her friends, children and grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Bob; her parents; two brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her brother, Eugene Pine; three children, Sally (Egener) Hanson, David Egener and Diane (Egener) Marie. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Erin Gillette, Matt Gillette, Karli Egener; and several nieces and nephews. We know Mom is smiling down on all of us while holding Dad's hand and catching up on the years they have been away from each other.
Mom, we will miss you so much but we are happy you are out of your pain and suffering. We are who we are because of you. You will always remain in our hearts. We love you Mom, your children.
