Becraft, Dorothy Wilhelmine (nee Huebner)

Sun Prairie, WI – Dorothy Wilhelmine Becraft (nee Huebner) died at Belmont Nursing & Rehab Center, Madison, WI at the age of 101 years, 4 months and 2 days, joined her Lord and Savior on November 14, 2021. John 14:2 “In my father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

She was born on July 12, 1920 in Rio, Wisconsin to Paul and Freida (Nintzel) Huebner. She was reborn through water and the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Doylestown, WI. At the age of fourteen Dorothy publicly vowed her loyalty to Christ and the true faith in the Rite of Confirmation at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington, WI. In 1929 she went to live with her uncle and aunt Otto and Nettie Stoltenberg, in North Leeds, WI. In 1940 she married Clarence W. Becraft of Portage, WI.

She is survived by a son, Floyd (Carol) Becraft of Sun Prairie, a daughter Sonja (Jeff) Stobie, Rutherfordton, NC, a granddaughter Victoire Holly (Greg Tong) Heintz, St. Petersburg, FL, a  grandsons Daniel (Noel) Becraft, Sun Prairie, WI, granddaughters, Ruth Becraft, Columbus, WI, and Sarah (Joshua) Wittig, Jackson, WI, a great granddaughter Tosca (Ismail “Miles”) Alaoui Adib, St. Petersburg, FL, great grandsons Hunter (Faith) Christensen, Augusta, GA, Philip Becraft, Sun Prairie, WI, Jacob Wittig and Benjamin Wittig, Jackson, WI, a great granddaughter Carrie Becraft, Sun Prairie, WI, and a great great grandson, Malek Alaoui Adib, St. Petersburg, FL. She is also survived by a cousin, Jennette Christian of Randolph, WI, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence on December 23, 2000 of 60 years. She is further preceded in death by two sisters, Esther (Casper) Anderson and Marie (Raymond) Schrab and a cousin Violet Burmesiter of Portage, WI.

Dorothy was a longtime and faithful member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie with Pastor Luke Werre officiating. Burial will be in the Otsego Cemetery, Otsego, WI. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00.

Memorials may be given to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church Expansion Fund.
