Middleton - Doris Jean Turville, age 82, was at last set free Friday, Sept. 28, 2012. She passed away at Clare Bridge of Middleton Memory Care where she had been residing for many years. She was born March 13, 1930 in Cataract, Wis. to Harold and Elizabeth (Berry) Cody. She grew up on the family dairy farm, the youngest of three sisters and close companion to her double cousins. She graduated from Sparta High School and later moved to Madison where she met Henry Q. Turville. They married Nov. 15, 1956 and started a family at the Turville home at Turville Point in Madison. The family later moved to Stoughton where Doris worked on the family business. After her divorce she lived in Deerfield and Madison where she worked on consignment sales and for Four Cs until her illness forced her to retire.
Doris spent much of her life giving of herself to her family and community. She was a co-leader of Kegonsa Hustlers 4-H Club and a founding member of the Madison Lioness Club. She took joy from her children, her flower gardens, her cats, her work, reading novels with happy endings and always was working on a puzzle or piece of embroidery. She traveled the world attending Lions Club conventions or following the Badgers to away games. She often shared a conspiratorial giggle with her friends.
Doris is survived by her children, Henry Q. Jr., Middleton, and Meg Turville-Heitz, Cambridge; her grandson, Morgan Turville-Heitz; her nieces, Sharon Isensee, Madison, and Joan (Ron) Shawley, Sparta; and many other relatives and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Adeline Isensee and Loretta Feasel; step-daughter, Kathryn Turville; son-in-law, David Heitz; and former husband, Henry Turville Sr.
The family thanks the caregivers at Clare Bridge and Agrace HospiceCare for their gentle care.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 10 am to 12 pm at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Memorials in Doris' name may be given to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. and Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.
