Doris Rickleff

Stoughton- Doris E. Hoel Rickleff, age 91, died on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born in Stoughton on December 6, 1925, daughter of Carl J. and Olga Algrim Hoel. Doris was baptized on January 10, 1926 at First Lutheran Church in Stoughton and confirmed there on May 7, 1939. Doris graduated from Stoughton High school in 1943 and later attended Luther College in Decorah, IA.
Prior to marriage, her working career as a Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) included primarily national church related and social service related agencies in Minneapolis and Chicago.
On February 19 1967 Doris married Reverend Frederick L. Rickleff and transferred her church membership to the United Methodist Church. She became the step-mother of Charlotte Dorothea Saponas and Lynne Merie Miguel. There are three step-grandchildren, Robert and Jennifer Saponas and Nola Doll, all of whom survive her. Two brothers, Milo and Richard, and her parents predeceased her.
Fred and Doris lived in Elmhurst, IL until 1972 when they moved to Pearl City, IL where they served a four-point parish of the United Methodist Church. In 1977 they moved to Schaumburg, IL to serve Our Redeemer's United Methodist Church until they retired in 1987 and moved back to Elmhurst, IL. In December 1995 they moved to a condo unit of Skaalen Retirement Services in Stoughton, WI.
All who knew her are thankful for her life: she was a consistent inspiration. Doris walked the Christian faith quietly, but steadfastly.
Memorial services for Doris will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Skaalen Home Chapel. Memorial gifts may be made to Skaalen Home, 400 N. Morris Street, Stoughton, WI, 53589.
