Doris Raufeisen

March 28, 1925 — March 20, 2015

MADISON - Doris Dean "Dedee" Raufeisen, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday March 20, 2015 surrounded by her family. Doris was born on March 28, 1925 in Loveland, CO., the daughter of the late Roy and Twilo (Gates) Foster. She earned her B.S. in nursing from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1948, and later moved to New Haven, CT. where she became a faculty member of Yale University and acted as an instructor of operating room nursing. It was on August 29, 1953 in New Haven, CT where she married her husband Frank Raufeisen.
Doris was an active member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Frank, her son Eric (Jeannette) Raufeisen; 3 granddaughters Jessica (Jason) Hallstrom, Heather Raufeisen and Brianna Dahlman; 5 great grandchildren Jaycen, Jaina, Jacquelyn, Lexi and Keagan; a sister Marjorie (Charles) Dickie; and she is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents and her son Peter.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at ST. ANDREW EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 1833 Regent St. Madison with Rev. Andy B. Jones or Rev. Dorota Pruski presiding. Burial will be at a later date in Illinois.
