Doris Greenwood

Sun Prairie - Doris Helen Greenwood, age 89, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on September 20, 1924 in Burnside, Iowa the daughter of Max and Edith (Willison) Anderson. Doris was married to Chester Greenwood on August 4, 1943 in Beloit, Wisconsin. They lived in Beloit until 1975. She worked at Fairbanks Morse and Freeman Shoe Company prior to moving to Minong, Wisconsin where she and her husband owned and operated Greenwood's Bar & Bait. During that time crafts and crocheting were her passion and she we would sell them at craft shows. In 2004 she moved to Sun Prairie to live with her daughter Linda.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Irish; her grandchildren, Mary Ellen (Ken) Johnston, Monte Irish, Mike (Mary) Wald, Barb (Jesus) Celias, Ed Greenwood Jr., Lori Greenwood and Jessie Greenwood; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Diane Greenwood; a son-in-law, George Wald, sister, Barbara Anderson; many other relatives and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, Dianna Wald; sons, Ed and Bill Greenwood and brothers, Eugene and Keith Anderson.

A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Rockton Township Cemetery.

Doris's family would like to thank the Colonial Club where she attended the Adult Day Center and Pine View Living in Sun Prairie for all the wonderful care she received.
