Madison - Donna Lappley Fisker, age 86, passed away June 12, 2014, as a result of complications of recurring cancer. She was born on May 8, 1928 to Paul and Evarose Reis Lappley. She attended Randall Elementary, West Junior and Senior High School and completed degrees at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On June 13, 1953 she married Harry Fisker of Racine, Wisconsin. They lived in Milwaukee for five years, moving back to Madison in 1960. Donna and Harry were blessed with three children; Eric, Andrew and Ann.
Special events and circumstances in her life were her steadfast friends, Master Gardner training, Madison Symphony Chorus, camping expeditions, travel, opportunities to work as a volunteer and also an employee in non-profit organizations, with a culmination of work experiences with the Wisconsin State Journal. After retirement, Donna enjoyed volunteer work for Dane County Parks, Allen Gardens, The Historical Society of Wisconsin and with the Advent Lutheran Church quilters. Harry and Donna enjoyed traveling with Friendship Force, Elderhostel, and other tour opportunities in the United States and overseas.
Donna is survived by her children; Eric (Nancy) Fisker, Andrew Fisker, and Ann (Kurt) Johnson, grandchildren; Rob Fisker of Madison, WI; Thomas Fisker of Breckenridge, CO; Owen, Charlotte and August Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO; and one great-granddaughter Sophia Fisker. She was preceded in death by Harry, a son, her parents, and many other relatives in the Reis and Lappley families.
There will be a Service of Music at the Madison Christian Community, UCC Community of Hope (7118 Old Sauk Rd, Madison, WI) on Saturday, June 21 at 11am. A reception will follow.
