Donald Schinker

Stoughton- Donald J. Schinker, age 67, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at his home. He was born in Milwaukee on May 7, 1948, the son of Peter and Janet Schinker. On May 17, 1969 Donald married Kathryn Uphoff. Donald graduated from UW-Stout with a B.S. in Vocational Education. After a short time in Auto Dealer Service Management, he began a 35 year career as an Auto Tech Instructor at MATC-Madison. After his retirement Donald kept busy by working part-time for FedEx. He enjoyed watching his grandsons sporting events, picking strawberries with his granddaughter, hunting and fishing with family and friends, attending his daughter's music events, spending time on the farm, and working on John Deere tractors. Donald is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathie; three children, Gregory (Melanie), Bradley (Christian), and Rebecca Schinker; three grandchildren, Garrett, Treyton, and Olivia; his mother, Janet; sister, Judy (Jim) Garske; and brother-in-law, John (Marge) Uphoff. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 143 Washington Street, Oregon, with Rev. Karl Hermanson officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the service, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Thursday at church. Please share your memories of Donald.
