McFarland-Donald "Don" E. Ring, age 80, passed away on April 3, 2012 at Nazareth Health and Rehab Center. He was born on Dec. 18, 1931 in Madison, the son of Herman and Laura (Schuetz) Ring. Don was married to the love of his life, Florine Ballweg on April 7, 1951 at St. John Catholic Church in Waunakee. He joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and was honorably discharged after his service to his country.
Don worked as a master plumber in his early years, teaching his nephew the tricks of the trade. He then purchased Park Pondorosa Inc. where his family worked in the entertainment industry for 37 years. Don's main passion was music; in 1985 he purchased the Library of Dick Jurgens Orchestra and traveled for many years with the band.
Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, Flo; Sons, Tim (Sue) Ring, Tom Ring and Todd (Denise) Ring; grandsons, Trevor and Tanner; granddaughters, Tammy and Talia; great-granddaughter, Taylor; brother, Russell Ring; sisters, Betty Baker, Anita (Ray) Ballweg and Darlene White. He was preceded in death his parents; brother, Richard Ring, brother-in-laws, Dave White, Orville Baker; sister-in-law, Charlotte Ring.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, 5101 Schofield St., Monona 53716 on Tues. April 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. A visitation will take place at CRESS FUNERL HOME, 5801 Hwy 51, McFarland 53558, on Mon. April 9, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Tue. at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
