Donald G. Moodie, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2015 with his wife by his bedside. He was born on September 2, 1928 in Cottage Grove, son to Fred S. and Hattie (Fredenburg) Moodie. Don was united in marriage to Anna Mae Gumz on September 30, 1950 in Cottage Grove. Together they raised nine children. Don worked for Fedele Trucking Company for 46 years, after retirement he worked for Truck Country. He was a fan of NASCAR racing, Packers, Badgers and Milwaukee Braves/ Brewers. Don enjoyed traveling with family and friends to Florida and out west. He adored his grandchildren and loved sitting with his wife outside on their driveway. "Spring wasn't determined by a Robin, but by when Don and Ann Moodie started sitting in their driveway on Windsor Street." Don was always friendly and supportive of his kids and their friends. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Ann; children Vicki ( Tom) Solberg, Susan ( Dhruba) Das, Jim ( Kim) , Tom ( Karen), Bob ( Cindy), Paul, Shirley ( Grant) Schoob and Marianne( Darcie) Moodie; daughter in law Tammy Moodie; 18 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren; also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his son Dan; sisters Madelyn, Lois, Vera, Donna Jean and brother Curt and Elmer. A funeral service for Don will be held 12:00pm, Friday, April 24, 2015 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Drive, Sun Prairie with Reverend Richard Blomker officiating, visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, and from 11:00am until the time of service at the church on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or Our Savior's Lutheran Church. The family would like to give special thanks to Agrace Hospicecare.
