MADISON- Dolores M. Smidebush passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Sebring Gardens in Madison. She was born in Detroit, MI on April 5, 1918, the daughter of the late Louis and Rosella (Hurley) Scott. She married Joseph Smidebush on April 20, 1940, and they celebrated sixty years of marriage together.
Dolores dedicated herself to being the best wife and mother she could be. She was so proud of her family.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her sister Eleanor (Pitcher), and her brother Jack Scott. She is survived by four children: Suzanne (McBriar) of Madison, Julie (Cliff) Weber of Colorado Springs, CO, Edward (Connie) of Concord, CA, and Mark (Lori) of Freeport, FL; her seven grandchildren, Joseph (Sherry) McBriar, Molly (Sean) Taray, Leigh (John-Luke) Fredericks, Albert Smidebush, Reed Smidebush, Kevin Weber, and Patrick (Kelly) Smidebush; two great grandchildren (Sasha & Quentin Taray), and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staffs at Sebring Assisted Memory Care, and Catholic Charities for the special care that Dee received the past six years. She was so blessed to be surrounded and supported by these folks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2015 Parmenter Street, Middleton. A visitation will be held at church on Monday from 9:30a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Madison.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Catholic Charities or Sebring Assisted Memory Care.
