Dolores Grengg

"MADISON"Dolores Arnold Grengg passed away July 27, 2016. She was born in 1930 in Chicago, Ill. Dolores married Walter Grengg in Chicago in 1955 and moved to Madison in 1961. She was one of the few "non-traditional" students at the University of Wisconsin, as the mother of children ages one and six. She graduated from the UW-Madison in 1968 with Honors, majoring in anthropology.
Dolores was a political activist, freelance writer, and held several UW and State of Wisconsin project assignment positions.Dolores' political activism spanned over 50 years - beginning with helping to organize anti-Vietnam War demonstrations through the Madison Area Peace Action Council (MAPAC), ongoing leadership involvement with the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) (including sitting on the national board), and continuing as an active board member of the Columbia Support Network until her death. Her project assignments included topics in gender equity in education and employment.
She is survived by her husband Walter Grengg; her daughters, Linda Grengg Damashek (Ron Damashek) and Heidi Grengg (Martin Hagen); and her grandchildren, Elliot and Aaron Damashek, and Sarah Grengg.
