Diane E. Homburg of Cottage Grove passed away on July 28, 2026 after a long illness. Diane was born on September 18, 1957 in Madison to Wilfred and Bertha (Riege) Homburg. She graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1975. She went on to the University of Wisconsin, at the University she was a member of the Kids from Wisconsin group. She worked her way through collage at Madison General Hospital in the Dietary Department. After graduating from UW she pursued her passion of dance. She enjoyed every dog and cat she met, every cardinal in the sky. Mental Illness is a terrible disease when it strikes, remember to use kindness when you see it.

Diane is survived by a brother Eugene, Cottage Grove. Cousins Robert Riege, Dan Riege, Dale Knapton.

She preceded in death by her father, Wilfred; mother Bertha; grandfather, Frank Homburg grandmother, Clara Homburg; uncles, Elden Homburg, Bert Riege, Fritz Riege, Albert Riege; special aunt, Marjorie Riege, Dorothy Riege, Grace Riege, Gertrude Knapton; cousins, Ed Knapton, Issac Knapton.

A memorial service will take place at 2PM on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Cress Funeral Service, 206 W. Prospect St., Stoughton, WI 53589. A visitation will take place from 1PM until the time of service. A burial will immediately follow services at Hope Lutheran Cemetery.
