Dennis Hugh Anthony Gallagher passed away peacefully just before 6pm on Christmas Eve, 2023. He was holding the hands of his oldest granddaughter, Aly, and his son-in-law, Rick. Dennis went to celebrate Christmas in heaven with his beloved wife Betty, whom he had been missing very much over the last seven years.
Dennis was born on June 27, 1937, in Sparta, Wisconsin. He was the second oldest of four children. Dennis was a Navy veteran, a nurse at Mendota, a devout Catholic, one heck of a storyteller, and always full of surprises and jokes. By many accounts, he gave the best hugs.
Family was everything to Dennis, and he will miss all of those he left behind. He is survived by four daughters: Denise Gallagher, Lynda Seeger (Rick), Debbie Bauman, and Tracy Puccinelli (John), seven grandchildren: Alyson, Danielle, Mackenna, Wynn, Paige, Luca, Angelo, three great-grandchildren: Emmett, Dawson, Bella Kay and his sister: Ann Schroll. He will also be missed by many others including his beloved brother-in-law Dimitri Kamolov, sister-in-law Dora Gallagher, nieces, nephews, cousins, several Godchildren and “honorary family” members. He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Margaret Gallagher, and siblings Patricia Kamolov and Phil Gallagher.
Please join us as we honor the memory of Dennis Gallagher. A service for him will be held on Friday December 29th at 1 pm at Winn Cress Funeral home 5785 County Rd Q Waunakee.
