Dennis "Buddy" Keith Schultz

Dennis “Buddy” Keith Schultz passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at age 79. He was born in Willow City, ND on November 6, 1945 to the late Everett and Florence (Hasenwinkel) Schultz. He married his high school sweetheart, Jeannette S. Rispa on July 17, 1965 in Willow City, ND. They had one son, Keith Dennis, who passed away on January 3, 2019. The couple also had two sons, Dennis Keith, Jr. and Kelly Dean, who passed away at birth.

Dennis was an electrical lineman for 41 years, moving 107 times, ultimately bringing his family to the Midwest. He retired as a lineman in 2001. Following retirement, he worked at the University of Wisconsin, Madison as a custodian until just recently. Dennis was very handy and enjoyed repairing all things and helping friends and neighbors.

He was a member of Cross Lutheran Church. He was a redneck at heart, enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved his Friday night bowling league.

Dennis will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeannette, sons, Keith, Dennis Jr. and Kelly, brothers, Duane and Kenny, sisters, Gloria Nickelson, Connie Sivertson and an infant brother. Brothers-in-law, Adam Leno, Wesley Nickelson, Edwin Nickelson, Orlando Rispa, Marvin Rispa and Sister-in-law Thelma Aitchison.

He is survived by his brothers, Jay (Nan) of Phoenix, AZ, Jeff of Upham, ND, Sisters, Doris Leno of Bismark, ND, Janice (Dennis) Schmidt of Mohall, ND, Brother-in-law Gary Sivertson of Bottineau, ND, Sister-in-law Darlene Schultz of Pepin, WI, Arlene Rude and Marlys Krogen of Bottineau, ND, Special friend, Nancy Moreland along with many nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Bella.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, with a visitation at 1:00 pm and funeral service at 2:00 pm at Cross Lutheran Church, 5062 Texas Longhorn Dr, Westport, WI. A light luncheon will follow. Burial will be back home in Omemee, ND at a later date.
