Dennis A. Buckley

COTTAGE GROVE—Dennis Allen Buckley passed away peacefully during his sleep, at his home, and in the comfort of his wife of 56 years, Linda Kay Buckley, on Friday, August 23, 2024. Dennis and Linda met each other at the ages of 15 and 14, respectively, and then married on June 15, 1968. Their marriage produced two sons, Scott and Michael.

Dennis truly enjoyed travelling with his family to destinations such as Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and Laughlin and Las Vegas, Nevada, where he enjoyed playing blackjack and slot machines.

Dennis’s other passion was the pursuit of competitive motorsports, and he won numerous national and local drag races over the decades driving high horsepower Mopars that he designed and built himself. He was a man who applied himself 100% to his interests and was very well liked and respected in the Madison area motorsports community.

Dennis is survived by his wife Linda Kay Buckley; sons Scott (wife Linda Mary Buckley) and Michael (partner Nick Fenhaus); brother-in-law Bill Redepenning, II (partner Cheryl Sutter); and our extended family member Angie Connors. Dennis was preceded in death in by his brother Kenny, and his parents Kenneth and Helen Buckley.

Following Dennis’s wishes, there will be a small, intimate family ceremony in the near future.

In lieu of cards and flowers, please make a donation to the Dane County Humane Society in his honor. Dennis truly loved many dogs over the years, and Snickers was the one who truly stole his heart. He’d be very grateful if his memory helped other dogs experience a rich life like his dogs did!
