Delores Rasmussen

MADISON - Delores (Freidig) Rasmussen, age 87, died peacefully at UW Hospital on May 29th, 2016. She was the daughter of William and Emma (Fluckinger) Freidig. She was a graduate of Brooklyn High School and the University of Wisconsin School of Nursing. Delores was a nursing supervisor at Wisconsin General Hospital and University Hospital and Clinics for 33 years.
Delores is survived by her son, Stuart; daughter-in-law, Roberta A. Rasmussen; sister's-in-law, Pearl Hockett and LaVonne Freidig; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Howard K. Rasmussen; her beloved son, Dr. Jeffrey L. Rasmussen; parents; sister, Lylas; and brother, Charles.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, University of Wisconsin School of Nursing Alumni Association, Women's Civic League of Portage, Portage Country Club, Partners of Divine Savior Healthcare, and Fluno Trails Women's Club.
Delores found joy in playing golf, bridge, riding her bike, knitting, sewing, and reading.
Interment will be at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
