Delores Meagher

MADISON
Delores Meagher, 86, but looking like 45, passed away peacefully after a very short illness at Meriter Hospital with her husband and four boys at her side. Delores was born in Amherst, Wisconsin but came to Madison to attend St. Mary's nursing school where she met and married Joseph Meagher. They were married for 65 years.

Delores worked for the University of Wisconsin Hospital as a nurse for a number of years. She was also active in the Madison community: She was former president of Nakoma Golf Club's Women's Organization and was also past president of the Madison Friends of Foreign Students. She volunteered at St. Mary's for a number of years and was active in many other community groups. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf as well as yoga. Her main passion was her family. She had four boys: Gary (Jackie), Casey (Sophol), Chris and Peter. She is also survived by four grandchildren (Megan, Kevin, Kate and Cordillia) and one great grandchild (Liv). With her husband and children, she travelled the world. Delores will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

A private service will be held later with close family to celebrate her life. She was very active in supporting charitable organizations throughout the country. In lieu of flowers, send donations in her name to Heifer International or an organization of your choice.
