Delores Colbert

WAUNAKEE - Delores Elaine Colbert (Ulteig), age 88, of Waunakee, passed away peacefully with her husband at her side, at the Waunakee Manor Tuesday, December 18, 2012
Delores (or Dee) was born on December 1, 1924 in Walcott, N.D., to Henry and Marie (Gunness) Ulteig. Dee and her family moved to Tomah in 1944. Dee attended Moorhead State College in Moorhead, MN, as well as attended summer sessions at the University of WI - La Crosse. Dee taught first grade in Watertown, Milwaukee, and Madison.
Dee married Edward Colbert on April 6, 1958. Their son, Mark Edward Colbert, was born on July 5, 1961. Mark Colbert died on July 8, 2007.
Dee was a member of Peace Lutheran Church for many years. Dee was the most caring individual who had a smile for everyone. She was very devoted to her family and friends. She will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her. Dee was also a perfectionist in every way whether it was taking care of those around her, keeping a spotless home, or cross stitching beautiful projects. Dee and her family so enjoyed their time together especially time spent enjoying nature "up north". Anywhere Dee found herself, some of the most enjoyable times were spent with family and friends drinking coffee and eating Norwegian goodies.
Dee is survived by her husband, Edward Colbert of Waunakee; her daughter-in-law Kathy Colbert of Canada; her grandchildren Edward and Jennifer Colbert of Canada; her brother, Rodney (Donna) Ulteig of Madison; four nieces, Heidi Ulteig of La Crosse, Stephanie (John) Korish of La Crosse, Kristi (Patrick) Flood of Delavan, and Jacqueline (Ryan) Logterman of Delavan; two nephews, Jeffrey Bond of Delavan and Steve Bond of Delavan; and great nephews and great nieces, Nathan, Ryan, Kayla, Alyssa, Sarah, Kathryn, Courtney, Jaelyn, and Kaiya.
She was preceded in death by her son Mark Colbert; her parents; two brothers, Harlyn Ulteig and James Ulteig; three sisters, Joyce Ulteig, Marilyn Ulteig, and Elizabeth Jean Bond; and one niece, Tracy Ulteig.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, 701 S. Century Ave, Waunakee, WI 53597. Pastor Karen Locken of Peace Lutheran Church will officiate. Luncheon will be served following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church.
