Marshall/Sun Prairie - Delbert G. Elmer, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at The Good Samaritan Society of Lodi. He was born on June 29, 1921, the son of Herman J. and Anna (Erb) Elmer. Delbert was united in marriage to Viola Keller in Mt. Horeb. He farmed in Postville area for many years and then started a 35 year career at Oscar Mayer & Co. Delbert was a workaholic until stroke 12 years ago...he enjoyed woodworking and landscaping. He loved spending time with his family..hunting, camping and family get-togethers. He was an avid hunter, both bow and arrow and gun. He was a member of the Blackhawk Archery Club.
Delbert is survived by his children, Richard (Barb), Darlene (Tom) Phillips, Ken (Sally) Elmer and Debe (Mark) Henry; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brother, Harold (Ruby) Elmer; brother and sister-in-laws, Marty (Jo) Keller, Harold (Shirley) Keller, Jim (Donna) Gehin, John (Diane) Shea and Rolly Keller; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is further survived by a wonderful and caring friend, Judy Sveum, who is deeply loved by his family.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Viola of 68 years, brothers, Harland and Alvin.
A funeral service will be held at OUR SAVIOR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 550 Lincoln Drive, Sun Prairie, on Monday, August 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dr. David J. Berggren officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, August 19, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Dad we love you. All the pain and suffering is over, every restless tossing passed. You are now at peace forever, safely home in heaven with Viola at last.
