DELBERT "DEL" DAHL - 89, was welcomed into heaven June 29, 2025. Del was born in Stoughton, WI on October 7, 1935 to late Lennie and Eleanor (Starks) Dahl. He attended Stoughton High School, graduating in 1954. This is where he met his beautiful wife Edith "Re" Rideout. They were married on October 19, 1956. Del joined the military and after serving his country, they settled on their farm in Cottage Grove, WI. Del and Re were blessed with four children.
Together they raised tobacco, hay and other crops to feed their livestock of cows, pigs, sheep and poultry. His favorite was his "birds". You could find an extensive variety of poultry on the farm at all times. Del was a long time hard working employee for Madison Gas & Electric (MGE) retiring in 1995.
Along with the love he had for farming and family, he loved his friends and adventures, making no excuses to miss a party or celebration of any kind. Del & Re loved to vacation at their cottage on the Wisconsin River and eventually to their retirement lake home in the Northwoods. They spent their summers in Cable, WI and their winters in Why, AZ for many years. Always in tow was Del's constant companion, a springer spaniel.
Del is survived by his daughters Jill (Carl) Licht, Nikki (Mark) Stace, his son Karl (Cari) Dahl. His grandchildren Corey (Andrea) Licht, Joshua (Marianne) Licht, Mackenzie (Alex) Maxwell, Crystal (Ryan) Caputo, Kim Stace, Jens Dahl, Kiel (Justine Winick) Dahl, Tiagan Dahl, Calli (RJ Theide) Dahl and Brea Dahl. 9 Great-Grandchildren with 2 more coming soon. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his daughter and son-in-law Jere Jean and Randall Hanson.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Legacy, Agrace Hospice Care and the numerous others that helped Del throughout his journey. A special heartfelt thank you to Cyndi Sue, Vicki and Pastor Holly.
