Sun Prairie - Deborah A. Huonker, age 44, passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at her home in Sun Prairie. She was born on July 10, 1968 to Edward and Donna (Danne) Gregoire. Debbie was a swimmer most of her life. She received a full scholarship to swim at Illinois State University. She earned a degree in Nutrition and Dietaries and worked at 3 hospitals over a period of 16 years. Deb's true passion became her transition from swimmer to swim coach. She loved supporting her daughter as well as all of her group athletes. She was always so happy and humbled to be part of a child's life.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Scott A. Huonker; her children, Baelin, Kynzie, Jaric and Teagyn; her mother, Donna Gregoire; a sister, Chris Gregoire and a brother, Greg Gregoire; a niece, a nephew, other relatives and her DFAC and BAC swim families.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at SUN PRAIRIE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 702 North Street, Sun Prairie, on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Amanda Stein officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, February 7, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Salem Cemetery in Wales, Wisconsin the following day.
