David Stenjem

McFarland/Stoughton- David G. Stenjem, age 61, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with Diabetes. He was born at Stoughton Hospital on October 19, 1956, the son of George and Kathryn (Reierson) Stenjem. David graduated from McFarland High School in 1974. Following high school he developed a love for the local stock car races and helped many local racecar enthusiasts to build their vehicles. David held several jobs over the years including working on the family farm, at Blaney Seeds as a maintenance mechanic, and for the Leiner Packaging Facility in Madison as a Production Line Mechanic. He had a knack for working on all types of farm equipment starting at a young age. When he was little he would watch his uncle Matt weld, this is where he developed his passion for welding. David starting his own welding and small engine business.

He is survived by his sister, Ann (Christopher) Bjordahl; nephew, Richard Bjordahl; two nieces, Katie and Lydia; and special aunt, Betty (John) Stenjem. David is further survived by aunts, Bernice (Gunder) Rein and Marcia Reierson; several cousins; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, John and Julie Stenjem and Carl and Lydia Reierson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 26, 2018 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington Street, Stoughton, with Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the services, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, and from 10:00 AM until the time of services Friday at church.
