David Snodgrass

David A. Snodgrass, of Fitchburg, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He was born on July 20, 1956 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Jack and Mary Jane (Andrew) Snodgrass. He married Ellen Benedict on October 12th, 1991. They proudly raised 4 children, Joseph, Charlie, Carrie and Jack.

Dave was the most amazing Father and Husband. He loved being with family more than anything. His family time was filled with bucking bronco rides, home run derbys, games of Pickle, and the story game around the campfire. He consistently treated his family with love, respect and kind words. He also loved his long walks with the dogs.

Dave also had an incredible work ethic. He moved to Madison in his 20's and began a long career in the telecommunications business. He started out as a technician then moved into sales and then to sales management. He felt privileged to work with many companies in the Madison area providing communication and fiber/data needs.

He loved sports. He loved to watch his kids in all of their endeavors. He was a faithful Green Bay Packer, Milwaukee Brewer and UW Badger fan.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Ellen; children: Joseph, Charlie, Carrie, and Jack; brothers and sisters: Karen (John) Leis, Steven (Christine), John (Mary Ellen), Charles (Kathy Ann), Linda (Mark) Ebert, and Richard (Annette); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave's faith and unwavering sense of humor carried him through his journey.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler presiding. There will be a visitation at the church 1 hour prior to Mass. A luncheon gathering will follow the Mass.
