David Charles Ottosen passed away May 6, 2026, 10 days after his 82nd Birthday. He died peacefully with his wife of 56 years by his side. It was a perfect fishing weather morning. He has been living in an Assisted Living/ Memory Care facility in Waunakee with some great caregivers. He also had been under the outstanding care of Bristol Hospice.

David was born in Adams, April 24th, 1944, to Carl (Bud) and Fay (Christofferson) Ottosen. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Inga, and stillborn twin brother, James Peter. He is survived by his wife Sarah (Sather) Ottosen of Waunakee, daughter Erica Ottosen of Madison Wi, son Shane Ottosen of Waunakee. He is also survived by grandchildren a source of pride and joy: Colin Ottosen and Katelyn Ottosen, both of Waunakee.

David was an insurance agent for many years. Then he worked for Cash manufacturing, and in later years he drove school bus until age 75. He enjoyed his “bus family”, watching his kids grow up. He loved four wheeling, his muscle car, reading, and hunting, but his real loves were cats and fishing. He will remember for his sense of humor.
