Verona - David P. Hudson, age 61, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare, after he lost a very private and courageous battle with that terrible disease called cancer. He was born on May 25, 1955 to Robert and Beverly (Talty) Hudson in Madison.
David loved his family and was dedicated to his business at Middleton Ford. David was committed to the succession of Middleton Ford with his sons and brother continuing the legacy. He was united in marriage to Lynn R. George for 29 years. "Dave the Godfather" had an inspirational effect on many people, with his very strong business ethics and unwavering support of people who went through difficult times themselves. Precious to him were all creatures great and small, and time in the Northwoods, which offered moments of peace and tranquility. When at the cabin, David enjoyed fishing, going down to his pier and casting in. He also enjoyed golfing, and had a certain affinity for cars, specifically Ford Mustangs. David was a member of Elks Club 410 in Madison, and an advocate for many charities, local and national.
David is survived by his wife, Lynn; his mother, Beverly; his sons, William (Celia Sabo) Hudson and Andrew (Kelsey) Hudson; his siblings, Sheryl Ruedebusch, Mary (Ken) Redders, Judy (Jose) Hudson-Trujillo, Bob (Ginny) Hudson and Dan Hudson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Donna George; his uncle, Philip Talty; and his dog, Murphy.
Private family services will be held, with burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. The family wishes to honor David's fondness for animals by encouraging donations to the Dane County Humane Society, 5132 Voges Road, Madison, WI 53718; and/or in recognition of the incredible and saintly care that was showed at Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.
