Darcy Zillner died early Tuesday morning, February 4th, 2014, from complications due to epilepsy. She was 37 years old.
Darcy was a pioneer who blazed a path for those with special needs. She presented challenges to educators and therapists that frequently left them smiling and singing raucous tunes with her. She has left a trail of stickers, bubbles, laughter and smiles. And she is greatly missed.
Darcy is survived by her grandmother Audrey, her parents Tom and Sheila, her brothers Brendan and Eric, her sister-in-law Monica and nieces Adela and Heloise, as well as many other relatives.
We wish to thank the UW cardiac ICU and palliative care staff for the dedicated care and respectful treatment of Darcy and of her family and friends. And a special thank you to Darcy's support staff, who helped her family get through this difficult time.
There will be a memorial service at St. Maria Goretti church on Wednesday, February 12th. Visitation is from 2:00-3:00; the memorial service will begin at 3:00 followed by a gathering in the hall until 5:30.
In lieu of flowers please send contributions in Darcy's name to Epilepsy Foundation Heart of Wisconsin.
