Daniel Semlak, 94, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2012 at Oakwood Retirement Community in Madison Wisconsin.
Daniel was born on October 12, 1917 and grew up in Omaha Nebraska. After graduating from the University of Nebraska he moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin and worked as a mechanical engineer at Allis Chalmers and subsequently at Waukesha Foundry. He married the late Mary Ann Landgraf in 1942 and together they raised their three children. In 1997 Daniel and Mary Ann moved to Madison where they spent their final years.
Daniel is survived by his three children, William Semlak (Joan Moore) of Macinaw Illinois, Susan Bethke (Robert) of Austin, Texas and Sally Sholl of Madison, Wisconsin as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Oakwood Community for all the loving care they provided to Daniel over the years.
A memorial service will be held at Oakwood Village West, Resurrection Chapel, 6201 Mineral Point Road, Madison, at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2012. A time for visitation and refreshments will follow the service.
