Daniel Clifford (Biedermann) Hoffman, beloved husband and father, passed peacefully in his sleep on September 1, 2026. He was born in West Allis, WI on December 8, 1973. Dan proudly served his country in the US Air Force as a firefighter for 10 years, an adventure that took him all over the world. In 1995, Dan married his high school sweetheart Opal, and the Air Force sent them first to North Dakota and then Alaska. Following his military service, he continued to work as a firefighter on the Alyeska oil pipeline before returning to Wisconsin with his family. After living in Madison for 10 years, Dan retired to country life in Poynette, and spent his time keeping the family’s small hobby farm up and running. He was always ready to try to engineer a solution to the problems caused by livestock run amok or the offbeat ideas of his wife. Dan was a proud horse show dad, and loved his children fiercely. They remain his proudest achievement.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 30 years, Opal, and their children, Emma, Arin, and Riley. He is also survived by his parents, Glenn and Maryjo Biedermann and Nancy and Reuben Hoffman, and siblings Josie Biedermann, Roxanne Bannister, Patrick Biedermann, Zachery Hoffman, Joshua Hoffman, and Matthew Hoffman, as well as many relatives and dear friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents Clifford and Evangeline Biedermann and Norman and Verna Hanselman.

The family wishes to thank the Columbia County Sheriff’s office and Poynette EMS for their compassionate and thoughtful service.

Friends and family will gather from 10-12:00 pm (noon) on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Cress Funeral Home SUN PRAIRIE with a celebration of Dan's life to follow at 12:00 pm.
